Heavenly Father, in the midst of struggle and weakness, please help us to keep our eyes fixed on Christ. Please help us to know him as the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross. Please help us to keep casting off every sin and not give up the struggle against it, but to endure. Please help us to find joy in the difficulties of life as we read your word, and see character, and ponder the works of salvation that you have poured out on your people throughout time, and brought to ultimate fulfilment in Jesus. May we marvel at his beauty and goodness often, stirring up in us a hope that undergirds all strife.
