Heavenly Father, thank you for the grace and compassion that overflows from your character. Thank you that you have always been like that and have even shaped that into your law for your people throughout time. You listen to the cries of the widow and fatherless, and have care for those whom others look down on. Lord we know your design for us is to love you with all our heart and love our neighbour as ourself, but we so often love ourselves only, and express that in insidious ways. Lord help us to see our weakness and failure, and to quickly shift our eyes to your abundant grace, mercy, and compassion. Please reform us into your image, that we might spend less time thinking of ourselves but be drawn to you infinite goodness, and to build up those around us in light of this.
