Heavenly Father, please help us to treasure Christ and rejoice in the great value of knowing him and being found in him. Open our eyes to the things we subtly place our confidence in – those things that we think will give us a good standing before you. Help us to recognise that these are a loss to us and shift our hope from the only true salvation that we have in Christ. Help us to keep rejoicing in that we have gained the person of Christ Jesus. Please shape our life around him rather than around things that we do and think will please you. May we love him more and more; may we trust him and follow him in all his ways; may we serve him and give all glory to him. He alone can save us Lord, so we hold tight to him.
