Gracious Father, help us to acknowledge our failings and not to shrink away from you. Expose our sin and help us to see the utter disaster that it is in our life. May we confront what we often hide away and confess it before you. We do this with a humble and lowly heart Lord, but with trust, knowing that you are a merciful and gracious God who has extended your faithful love to sinners like us throughout the generations. Help us to know and believe all that Christ, our perfect redeemer, has done to purchase our forgiveness. May we not hang back in self-generated shame but rush to you, knowing that in Christ we have peace and stand righteous.
