Father, thank you that we have been united with Christ. Our old person was crucified with Christ at the cross and was raised to life again in his resurrection. The old heart of sin that once seeped out all manner of festering thoughts and actions has been incinerated and now we have the wellspring of Christ’s beautiful life in us. Yet we find ourself, at times, scratching around in the ashes of our old life, looking for dead things to play with. Through the power of your Spirit, Lord, may we offer every part of ourselves as a tool for righteousness and your glory. We ask this now, knowing that we live under your abundant grace.
