Father, help us to rest in the assurance you give us in Christ. We look back to others who trusted in you to supply your overflowing grace in place of our weakness and sin. We rejoice with David who saw how blessed it is to have our lawless deeds forgiven, to have our sins covered. We remember Abraham who believed in you who gives life to the dead and calls into existence things that have not existed before. Lord we know you are able to overcome our sin and the death that it produces. Centre our confidence on Christ, in whom we clearly see your grace, for he gave himself for us, and and covered our sin with his own blood, securing forgiveness for all who believe. May we believe with gladness today at Bible study, as we hear again of your grace that we have through faith. Help us to stand firm in it together.
