Lord, may our longing be for the inheritance that you have given to us. Cause us to be utterly dissatisfied with the futile securities that we might build for ourselves. Lord, you are our portion, our hope is in your faithful, steadfast love. May we mine deeply the treasures of this committed relationship that you have established through your own strength, and devote ourselves to you. Open our eyes to the crescendo of your faithful love in Christ and the inheritance that has been secured in him. May we recognise in him such value that we consider the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt. Lord, please calibrate the values of our heart in this way.
