Heavenly Father, when we see Jesus, we see you. Lord, help us to recognise how incredible this is. When we hear him speak we hear your words; he acts and does the works that you have planned. Father thank you that you have stepped into out word in order to gather us to yourself. Yet, you have stepped into our world with such humility, stooping to take on ordinary, normal human existence. Christ did not come to lord it over us but to serve with all your grace and humility. Thank you for Christ’s gentle kindness towards us. Thank you too, that though he is humble, he is the very essence of your glory, and that in him alone, we can come to you. Please help us to rejoicingly rely on him alone.
