Heavenly Father, thank you that since before the world was made you had your plan in place to send the Christ. Thank you that he is the good king that we so desperately need. Thank you for the way he transforms lives, cuts through our facade, pours out forgiveness on the humble heart. Please help us to know Jesus, and to declare him as the Christ. Help us to recognise him as the king you have planned him to be – suffering, humble, righteous., rather than the king we think he should be. Help us to keep knowing the Christ as we read and re-read your word. Please challenge us in our pride and turn daily to his forgiveness.
