Heavenly Father, please help us as we approach Christmas to spend time reflecting on your goodness to us in the Lord Jesus. You deserve all glory Lord, and not us. Please equip us through your Spirit to keep helping people know your name and and recognise your faithful love and truth. At this time of year please help us to recognise the worthlessness of idols and ease of our hearts to be lured towards the created thing rather than you our creator. May we put our trust firmly in you, Lord, be our help and shield. May we truly know you and fear and be drawn all the more to trust in you. Thank you that you have drawn us to be your people and given us such hope beyond death – that we will praise you, both now and forever.
