Heavenly Father, thank you for the opportunity to meet together this week and read your word. Please help us to be a group that does not merely read it, but one that listens to it. Please help us to read it faithfully, seeing how it all comes together and is fulfilled in the person of Jesus. Please encourage us as we see your far-reaching works of salvation, and challenge us as we see the impact this has on our lives. Please strengthen us to live as your creatures under your beautiful care through the Lord Jesus. May our lives give honour to Christ as we set him as the rightful Lord of our lives and all things. May we speak often of his character, his work of salvation, and his unmatched sovereignty over this world.
