Heavenly Father, please help us to make no provisions for sin but instead commit ourselves to hearing your word. Please shape us into a group who treasures it and digs deep in it, encouraging each other with it as we go through life together. Please give us opportunities to come together as a group around your word. Help us to be spurred by it when we see our own sinful nature reflected there, shift our eyes from self pity to repentance, from repentance to joy as we marvel at the depths of Christ’s salvation that we see there also. May we be struck anew by your great and beautiful plans and be shaped to long for this too. May we live to please you rather than man and live as living sacrifices for your glory.
