Heavenly Father, please help us to fix our eyes on our living hope, the Lord Jesus. What have we to fear when we see that he has conquered death? What can we long for more than his eternal life? Yet we so often set our highest joys so low, settling for meagre scraps when the banquet of Christ is set before us. Forgive us for our misdirected loves. May we reset our hearts on him, and treasure him, and find ourselves delighted with his great love. Thank you that you have poured it out on us through Christ’s work on the cross and that by your grace we can never be separated from it.
