Merciful Lord, we tentatively ask that you open our eyes to see our sin. I know my wrongdoings Lord, but I do not often see the deep darkness that is it, the mournfulness of it, its cancerous blight in my heart, its offence and repulsiveness to you. Lord correct me, but with judgment, not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing. Teach my heart true repentance. Lord we ask tentatively but confidently, knowing you as our gracious and loving Father. We stand with your eternal Son, our Lord Jesus, knowing that he has born every last drop of wrath that our sin deserved. Father, we ask with hopefulness, calling upon you to forgive and transform us in the power of your Holy Spirit. Reveal your glory through your work in us.
