Our good Father, please feed us your word. How impoverished we become when we look to our own devices to nourish our hearts. What styrofoam substitutes they are, promising much but providing nothing! May we see them for what they are and put them where they belong. May we satisfy our souls with the riches of the gospel of Jesus. As we open your word with each other at JCU, please strengthen our trust in you and fuel our love for one another. By your Spirit, open our eyes to see your truth to our hearts, and our ears to your correction, instruction and encouragement. Please build us up and nourish us by your good word.
