Dwelling with your people

Lord, you are our majestic and awesome God. You spoke with your people and the mountain trembled with fire and smoke and loud trumpet sounds. Knowing their inadequacies the people could not bear to even hear your word. But Lord, thank you that, even so, you dwelt in the midst of your people, making provision for their sinfulness and bringing about holiness. Father, we marvel that you do the same in those of us who are in Christ. In Christ you have made provision for our inadequacies and sins, joining us to his holiness, and now you dwell in the midst of your people, our bodies forming your temple. As we meet together at uni or church or home, may we marvel at your holiness and rejoice at your grace in dwelling among your people.

Amen
