Heavenly Father, thank you that you have given us your great king Jesus. Thank you that when he was given the task of saving his people he did not waver or turn aside from the good path you had laid out before him. Even though he was hard pressed and tempted, worn down and sorrowful to the point of death, he did not quail from the task, but laid down his life for our sake. Father, please help us to know the great salvation we have in Christ. Please help us to keep putting our security in him. Help us to shrink down the sense of security that we think we can find in earthly treasures, and instead grow in our joy of the sure foundation and hope that we have in Christ.
