Heavenly Father, thank you that you are bigger and greater than the depths of our sin. Thank you that the judgement of death that once threatened to swamp us forever has been taken away through Jesus, our Master and Commander. We rejoice in Christ our saviour who is mightier than the stormy sea and calmed it with a word. Thank you that he planned to come and be in the deeps with us but also to be swallowed up by it for our sake, and rise again with new life for us. Please help us to stand in awe of Christ and acknowledge him as our master and commander as well, that we might serve him with trembling fear at who he is yet with boundless joy as well.
