Heavenly Father, thank you for times of rest. Thank you that you are in control and are always at work in creation, making and sustaining your world. Thank you that times of rest help us to remember your good providence, and that we are not God, but dependant and finite creatures. Hep us to be aware of our mortality, and that we cannot simply cary on forever, but will face the brokenness and death that will ultimately reach to us as well. Thank you though that with you as our father, our experience of brokenness and death is limited and comes to an end, that we will rise to life and perfect rest with you. Please keep us longing for that day and resting in your grace and mercy every day until then.
