Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus as our great king. Thank you that he expresses his greatness and glory by becoming the least servant and pouring out your grace on us. Thank you that you are the God who does not stand aloof but who steps into this world with all it’s limitations and suffering in order to lay down your life for us. Thank you that for you, the weakness and shame of the cross was the moment of greatness, the might point of your abundant grace, the throne of ultimate peace. May we rejoice in this great moment, in that it brings us true peace and life. Please make us people who live out the greatness of this gracious, sacrificial service for the sake of others.
