Heavenly Father, we once shut our eyes to you and opened them in darkness. We lived walking along a path of our own making, a slope that ran to death. Lord, we know the darkness of sin in our life and the destruction and pain that it brings. Forgive us our sins, Father. Thank you for your Word who made all things, who is the life and light of all. Thank you too, that he came into the darkness, that we could believe in him and find life once again. Thank you too, that he came into the world with strength for the sake of love, that though the world opposed him, his light and life was not overcome, but triumphed at every turn with grace upon grace. Lord, please envelope us with his life, and grow us in his light.
