Father, we take great comfort in being able to say, “My God is king,” for we say it in the midst of our brokenness and sin. We have seen the way that our folly and pride has isolated us from you and made a ruin of that good life of loving you and loving our neighbour. Our accuser stands over us and mocks, exulting in our weakness. But my God has always been king; from ancient times he has been the great saviour; my God is in control. Thank you, Lord, that we can trust you to save, that you have saved us and undone sin through Christ. Thank you that the poor and needy like us can praise your name – work that we may do this more and more. Champion your cause Lord, bring light to our darkness.
Amen
