Oh Lord, thank you that we can call you our Father. We are mere creatures of you our holy and infinite maker, and yet you relate to us in faithful love, with the intimacy and care of a father. How good this is, and yet we had thrown your love in your face and treated you as good as dead to us, living as though we had made ourselves and you were no more than our tool. Father, thank you that you pursued us lost and wayward children come rebels; that you would throw yourself into shame and death that we might gain life and honour once more. We throw ourselves into your arms, Father, and rejoice that you will hold us forever. Please help us to set aside our old habits, and to keep knowing, and trusting, and putting on Christ who brought our reconciliation about, and who lives for us as your perfect son.
Amen
