Father, help us to be united together as your people. Help us to behold Jesus, the head of the body, as preeminent in all things. He is the eternal Word of God who became flesh, and so takes the rightful place of firstborn of all creation. He is the author of life, by whom and for whom all things were made, who leads us through the shadow of death with his triumph over the grave. He is our head and though we are many, are one body in Christ. Help us then, to live as members one of another. By your grace, may we use the different gifts you have given us in harmony. May we serve Christ, each other, our neighbour, without selfishness and bring glory to your name.
Amen
